Customer Service Representative.

About The Gift Network:

The Gift Network (TGN) is a unique and electrifying company that provides an opportunity for engaged couples preparing their wedding registry to tap into products of all kinds, from all kinds of stores, in one central system. The choices for registries are very limited in Canada and the process of going through one can become very tedious and frustrating. Our goal is to ensure we provide a service that will eliminate the irritation and accommodate what should be a fun and bonding experience. The company is growing rapidly and is in need of customer service representatives who will also take on business development rolls.

Customer Service Representative:

  • Deal directly with customers by telephone, email or in person
  • Respond promptly to user inquiries and resolve complaints
  • Obtain and evaluate information to effectively handle inquiries and complaints
  • Keep records of user interactions, inquiries, comments complaints and actions taken
  • Answer questions about and explain website processes and set-up.
  • Communicate and coordinate with account managers
  • Follow up on customer interaction
  • Be sensitive to user needs while maintaining "thick-skin" and calm attitude
  • Willingness to build a long-term relationships with users
  • Research and understand the event registry market
  • Build relationships with partner stores, and reach out to potential partners
  • Develop and implement evolving approaches to foster growth

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Completed college/university degree
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Experience in customer service
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Time management and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (charismatic personality a must!) and a strong team player
  • Ambitious and motivated to succeed

Internship Opportunities.

Marketing Intern:

  • Developing and implementing TGN's short and long-term marketing strategy
  • Find several free/inexpensive marketing and advertising strategies. These will include:
  • Marketing to potential retailers and wedding service providers (i.e. wedding planners, venue coordinators, engagement ring/wedding dress retailers, etc.)
  • In-store marketing (advertising at TGN's retailers)
  • Social media (i.e. Facebook campaign targeting engaged couples)
  • Public media (i.e. bridal magazines/websites, television interviews, gift/bridal trade shows throughout the GTA, etc.)
  • Managing PR campaign (including communications strategy)
  • We have a small marketing budget so you must be creative, think outside the box, etc.

Research and Business Development Intern:

  • Conceptualizing new industry ideas
  • Research on US expansion
  • Researching bridal market and trends
  • Researching competition
  • Assisting in development of our retailer network

Qualifications:

  • In progress or completed college/university degree
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Time management and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (charismatic personality a must!) and a strong team player
  • Familiarity with the processes of wedding registries in the GTA
  • Ambitious and motivated to succeed
